That’s the question many people may have asked themselves after listening to this sick individual seeking cheap publicity during her “press conference,” days after disturbing photos were published of her holding a representation of the severed and bloodied head of President Donald Trump, presumably as a nod to her fellow LGBT activist soldiers in ISIS.
According to CNN:
Kathy Griffin is fighting back against the abuse and “death threats” she has received in light of controversial images released earlier this week that showed the comedian holding up a bloody head resembling that of President Donald Trump.
In a news conference on Friday, Griffin’s attorney Lisa Bloom accused Trump and his family of “using their power to target her.”
“If you don’t stand up, you get run over,” Griffin said. “What’s happening to me has never happened in this great country. A sitting president of the U.S. … is personally trying to ruin my life forever.”
Bloom said the comedian was contacted by the U.S. Secret Service and said she has retained a criminal lawyer.
So this “comedian” thought it was funny to jump on the bandwagon of leftist celebrities making violent threats against their democratically elected President, confident that nothing serious would happen considering the lenience shown up to now, and then portrays herself as the victim while whining about “death threats” – perhaps she was sent pictures of her fake severed head covered in ketchup – and having her life ruined because the Secret Service paid her a visit to ask for her version of the morbid story.
The photos in question were released on Tuesday and quickly drew backlash by people on social media.
Griffin apologized for the “disturbing” photos, taken by provocative celebrity photographer Tyler Shields, later that day.
“I beg for your forgiveness. I went too far,” she said in a video posted to Instagram late Tuesday. “I made a mistake and I was wrong.”
“Kathy never imagined it could be misinterpreted as a threat of violence against Trump. That was never what she intended,” Bloom said.
Her “apology” was about as disingenuous as they come, her body language betraying a desperate attempt to salvage her career, and if anything she only dug herself in deeper with the ridiculous assertion made by her lawyer. How could anyone misinterpret the representation of the decapitated, bloody head of the President as anything other than a threat or an incitement to violence? This has nothing to do with free speech, and anyone who thinks it does would probably be fine with her shouting “fire” in a crowded theatre of Republicans.
On Wednesday, Griffin was fired from her gig on CNN’s New Year’s Eve program, which she had co-hosted alongside Anderson Cooper since 2007.
Griffin said her termination was “hurtful.”
“Hurtful” was how she described it. Now that’s funny – perhaps she does have a bright future as a comedian. However one is left wondering if she has the empathy to consider how hurtful it was for the Presidents 11 year old son Barron to see her holding the bloody representation of his fathers severed head?
Griffin also lost an endorsement deal with Squatty Potty, a line of bathroom footstools, and has had at least five of her stand-up gigs canceled since the photos were released.
She’s definitely into some strange fetishes. This is great publicity for Squatty Potty though, perhaps they were behind the whole thing.
In all serious though, it’s important that a clear message be sent to all of these perennial losers, that there will be repercussions for these types of sick stunts, and that the carte blanche of violent speech and actions hitherto utilised by the left against anyone who disagrees with their intransigent opinions is coming to an end.
Griffin and Bloom believe the comedian has received harsher backlash because she is female.
“This is a woman thing,” Griffin said.
No, it’s because you’re a psycho. If anything she used her female license to cry and attempt – unsuccessfully it would seem – to obtain sympathy, something a man in a similar position would have been lambasted for.
Although Griffin tearfully apologised again during her press conference, she said that she will continue to use Trump as fodder for her comedic material.
“I’m going to make fun of him more now,” she said.
Yes, I bet that was the plan all along, however the joke’s on her now it seems.
